Lunch at Cucina Toorak is a masterclass in refined Italian dining — a perfect balance of sophistication, warmth, and genuine hospitality. Gabriele’s attentive guidance turned our meal into an exceptional journey through authentic flavours and thoughtful pairings. We began with a trio of superb entrées: golden rice balls (arancini) bursting with flavour, a beautifully layered parmigiana rich and comforting, and a delicate combination of thinly sliced octopus and king prawns that set the tone for what was to come. The seafood pasta was nothing short of outstanding — perfectly al dente, generously filled with fresh seafood, and finished with a sauce that showcased both depth and restraint. The steak tenderloin followed, flawlessly cooked and paired with a robust red wine, elevating the meal to pure excellence. Dessert brought us back to Italian tradition, with creamy ice cream and a perfectly brewed Italian coffee — a simple yet flawless finale. The ambience ties it all together: cosy and classy, effortlessly combining warmth with sophistication. Cucina Toorak isn’t just the best Italian restaurant in Toorak, Melbourne — it’s an experience of refinement, authenticity, and heart. A true gem where every detail speaks of passion and perfection.
Amazing venue! I did not get a photo of the special pappardelle that I ordered (it was divine) but I came here on a Monday night when a lot of things were shut and I was very impressed. I did not catch the waitress’ name but she was incredibly friendly and jovial.
The food and service was incredible! Felt so welcome and attended to as soon as we arrived. The food was sooo good. Steak was probably some of the best I’ve had in Melbourne! Bug roll, tuna tartare and oysters were all great too. We’ll definitely be back!
First time diner with my family yesterday for a birthday lunch and was very impressed. Stunning atmosphere, intimate yet relaxed setting, full house but could easily talk (the music did need to come down a bit which they were fine with) a fantastic menu, each dish a perfect serve, full of. Our and flavour. 2 staff on the floor worked seamlessly and busy! I am so glad I picked this place and now have a new Toorak road special venue.
What a charming, hidden gem! We went here for a spontaneous public holiday lunch as everywhere else was closed and were completely blown away. The food was absolutely stunning. Highly recommend the scallop & prawn ravioli with lobster bisque, which was unbelievable. Already planning on coming back!!
Came here with a party of 4. We were late to our reservation by 45 minutes (I know, I know) but all the staff were super friendly and gracious, and tried to speed up serving our orders so we could still get out before the next seating. At no point did they rush us. We still had a great time and a great meal. We ordered 2 entrees, 4 pasta mains, 2 sides, and 2 glasses of wine for the ladies. Just under $300. Food was splendid. The lobster bisque sauces were so nice. The lamb ragu in white wine sauce was also delicious. All the pasta was incredibly nice, al dente with some bite. The atmosphere was decidedly Italian. Tight spaces, not many tables inside, our table of 4 could have easily been for 2 but we loved it. Still enough space for everything. Nice, cosy, intimate. Gab the owner came over and said hi. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly, funny and welcoming. Loved the whole experience. Thank you Cucina team!
Spontaeus Sunday lunch, they have an amazing lunch special with a starter, pasta main and a glass of vino $35 (no Sunday surcharge). Maria was delightful and so helpful managing all tbe tables herself. We will definitely be back! Thank you ⭐
Went there Valentine’s Day dinner last night and I had to come and leave a review! What amazing experience!! Starting with the complimentary V-day Prosecco, we knew we were in for an awesome night. The staff was genuinely so great, so friendly and humorous. Our food was well timed and it was absolutely delicious. The sweetest thing was that they gave a red rose to each of their customers to take home! We are very pleased, especially because we went out for a date night after a long time and it was the perfect!! PS: keep yourselves hydrated while doing the amazing job that you’re doing!
